Orange County is one of the most popular counties to visit in California. From the shores to the fun amusement parks and everything in between, there are many things you will love doing while in Orange County.

Experience the Disney Magic

Bring the family to one of the two theme parks in Orange County operated by the Walt Disney Company. Travel to Disneyland Park, and see the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle as you walk in. Travel through the many themed lands that make up the park. Go on the Indiana Jones Adventure ride at Adventureland. Experience the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean rides at New Orleans Square. Ride the Splash Mountain log flume ride at Critter Country. Head over to the Tomorrowland area and check out the Space Mountain and Jedi Training activities. The rail trains and monorails around Disneyland Park will take you out here and to the many other areas that make up the massive park.

You can also visit the Disney California Adventure park located not too far from Disneyland. Enter the park through Buena Vista Street as you will be greeted by the Storytellers statue, a large statue depicting Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse together. Go through the seven themed areas of the park and see the many rides and attractions all around the park. Watch special productions based off of the hit films Frozen and Guardians of the Galaxy. Travel around the forest-themed Bug’s Land or race around at Cars Land. Move down the waters on the Grizzly River Run ride at the Grizzly Peak area.

Explore Nature

Nature comes alive through many of the unique sites around Orange County. See many of the exotic animals and plants that are native to the Southwestern United States at the Orange County Zoo. Located around Irvine Regional Park in the city of Orange, this attraction is home to various animals situated around eight acres of space. Spot the black bear, bald eagle, cougar, coyote, turkey vulture, and coati among many others at the zoo. Bring the kids to the barnyard attraction where they can learn about goats, pigs, and many other prominent farm animals. Buy some grain and feed it to the animals here. You can even touch a few of the animals here.

See hundreds of species of birds at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve on the shores of Orange County. Look for the Cooper’s hawk and California brown pelican. Go to the reptile house to see California kingsnakes and rosy boas among many others. See a few of the old archeological sites around the reserve. These include sites where Indian settlements were prepared as far back as eight thousand years in the past.

Enjoy the Shoreline

The shores of Orange County make it a popular place for many to visit. Enjoy sailing off of Capistrano Beach on the southern shore near Dana Point. Rent a boat at the 1000 Steps Beach or Aliso Beach near Laguna Niguel. Travel to the Balboa Pier along Newport Beach and bring your fishing equipment. Watch as the boats move in and out of the pier.
